Associate Professorships are joint appointments associated with a tutorial fellowship at a college, Associate Professors have teaching, supervisory and research responsibilities both there and in the Department.
Applications are invited from both experienced and less experienced researchers who have completed or will be close to completion of a doctorate by September 2023. We are open to considering candidates at the level equivalent to Assistant Professor in the North American market. The University of Oxford uses the grade of Associate Professor for most of its academic appointments. Appointments to Associate Professor can include those at the start of their careers directly from PhD, as well as more established researchers.
You will have an exceptional track record in scholarship, research, teaching, management and administration and will enjoy participating fully in the interdisciplinary college community and life of the Department. Typically advertised during Michaelmas term (from October) and usually recruited during Hilary term (January onwards)
Five year appointment before eligibility for reappointment until retirement
